I'm a second-year student and this is how I look. I've been trying to put on weight but see no change. Living in a hostel limits my diet, so I'm thinking of moving to a flat for more food options, but I'm short on cash and protein powders are pricey. I also thought about joining a gym. My weight stays around the same and I have no health issues, just feel it's my normal weight.

Diet:
- Breakfast: banana shake with oats, dry fruits, pumpkin seeds, dates (used to take a weight gainer too)
- Eggs: 3 times a week
- Lunch: roti and sabji
- Dinner: regular food

Height: 160 cm
Weight: 37-38 kg (was 40 kg earlier)

Please suggest a decent diet plan. I'll try to follow it once I shift to a flat. My appetite is low, so I can't stuff myself even if I try; I eat only small portions and I'm vegetarian.

Add calorie-dense foods like peanut butter, nuts and seeds. Use more oil or ghee, switch from toned milk to full-cream milk, and include low-volume high-calorie snacks such as peanuts or roasted chickpeas.

This isn't normal weight loss; you should see a doctor instead of relying on Reddit. You need serious help.

Saad

Get your thyroid checked and consult a nutritionist.

I'm a 19-year-old male, weigh 41 kg. Eating is really hard for me, maybe because of depression.

As a doctor, you should see both a nutritionist and a physician to design a personalised diet and exercise plan. Adding psychotherapy sessions can also help until you reach your target weight and health goals.

I'm also underweight (though not as much). I started loading up on peanut butter with every meal - half a roti or a slice of bread with it. It increased my hunger and helped me gain a little weight, so you could try that.
