Massive! Kunlavut is super consistent, even for a top‑level player. This win makes me as happy as those SatChi S1000 stories ❤️

Undoubtedly the best run any Indian player has ever had in a tournament.

He knocked out WR7 in the round of 32, WR5 in the quarters and finally WR1 in the semis. Vitidsarn hardly ever loses to upsets.

The only easier match Ayush had was against a WR20, who was still ranked higher than him. All this comes after Ayush lost to Okimoto (WR41) in the round of 16 of the last tournament just two weeks ago.

I'm not sure how fair the comparison of Ayush with Axelsen will be in the coming years, but we definitely have a giant‑killer in our bank now.

And he's just 20 – plenty more to come. Super excited for tomorrow, most likely he'll face Shi Yu Qi.

Those smashes were so satisfying, especially since Kun is famous for his defence.

Brilliant run! Ice‑cool execution from Ayush Shetty on most points. Never looked flustered.

He didn't look down even after losing the first set. The man showed real guts by going for a low‑percentage down‑the‑line smash at 20‑19 in the second set after dropping five straight game points.

Vitidsarn seemed off his game and wasn't fighting for points in the latter half of the third set. Probably because he couldn't find any chink in Ayush's armour despite trying to slow the pace early in the third.
