Shilpa

This season is definitely going to be a flop!!

Manoj

I respect his confidence, but the IPL has a way of humbling everyone.

Omkar

Bro, please don't feed the haters any more content.

Michael

He was dropped from the T20 squad, so he has a lot to prove to get back in.

Now he's in the same group as Jaiswal, Gaekwad, Vaibhav and Sai (while Samson, Abhishek and Ishan are way ahead of them).

Everyone will be watching his strike rate against quality bowling closely.

Jai

He just sets his own fielding standards.

Rekha

I'm not sure why folks are mocking this, but mature players respond to criticism like this: he's our two‑format captain and really doesn't need to prove anything. He's been the top run‑scorer for the last three‑four IPL seasons. A few bad series or tournaments can't define his career in that format.

Harry

Prasidh Krishna bagged the purple cap last season, so he's got nothing to prove... alright.

Ganesh

People are acting like he's not trying to improve at all, lol. He's just saying he isn't bothered by the T20I drop and is focused on winning the tournament, not on proving anything to anyone.

Devansh

These days the IPL rewards intent over consistency. Gill is consistent, but sadly lacks that intent.

Radhika

Fans expect an IPL and a two‑format India captain who is overly confident and says yes to everything.

He actually is the highest run‑scorer in the IPL since 2020, so he's not wrong.

The only reason he isn't in the Indian team is that his style doesn't fit the national side, but it works perfectly for GT and he's been brilliant for them.
