Brings back memories of snow‑covered Lachung and the biting cold I endured while riding the Himalayas in January.

Hey bro, can you tell me what your budget was and whether Lachung and Lachen are open?
Also, could you share the full short itinerary if possible?

Prem

Where did you stay in Lachen and Lachung?

Could you share your itinerary, please?

Here's the full itinerary for anyone asking:

We travelled when both Lachen and Lachung were open. For North Sikkim we booked a 3‑night/4‑day shared‑cab package from Gangtok (covers travel, stay and some meals) at about ₹4k per head. We also spent 3 nights in Gangtok itself. In total our 7‑night Sikkim trip cost roughly ₹20k per person.

We reached Gangtok from Siliguri by a shared cab (₹500 each). You can also hop on an SNT bus from the SNT stand – it's cheaper and a solid option.

Once you're in Gangtok, just stroll around MG Road and talk to a few tour operators. We booked ours from a shop opposite West Point Mall – the guy was relaxed and gave us a good rate. It's better to book from Gangtok rather than Siliguri/NJP; we got the cheapest fare that way.

Don't count on stable electricity in Lachen or Lachung – the weather can cut power. Also, there's no guarantee they'll be open when you go; it depends on the conditions, so a bit of luck is needed.

You can rent jackets, gloves, etc. on the way, so you don't have to carry everything. If you plan to visit Gurudongmar Lake, carry camphor or a small oxygen can – the air is thin and you might feel it.
