Joined as PO in 2023, got confirmed in Nov 2025 as a Per/Sme/Reh Credit/field officer in a semi‑rural branch.

Probation was easy because I only had one boss - either the department head or the branch head - so I didn't have direct responsibility or heavy accountability. AO/RO/RBO/ZHO didn't chase me for targets.

After confirmation I was moved to advances, just like many of us.

How I handle targets, sales and cross‑selling?
-> If it can happen it will happen, so stay relaxed and stop over‑thinking. You just need to show that you made every possible effort.

1. For sales, visit government departments and click a few photos with an employee. It's easier if you take a local outsourced staff member along. You can spend the whole day out or at home and only need about 30 minutes for the photos. Claim a half‑day halt for that day and enjoy. Show your manager the leads you "generated", then later explain they couldn't be converted because of ROI, CIBIL or eligibility issues.

2. Instead of calling the leads that are dumped on you each month, delegate the calls to an outsourced worker, give them a small incentive for any conversion, and ask them to note remarks after each call. You may not reach every lead, but you'll have evidence of calls and remarks. Remember, you're a manager - learn to delegate.

3. You don't have to sell insurance yourself. Just forward loan customers to the manager's cabin after sanction; they'll handle the rest. Only managers get questioned for cross‑selling by ZO/RO/RBO, and I never received a life‑insurance target from anyone except my BM.

Follow these steps and don't stress about missing targets. At worst the business office will keep calling you daily; just give a polite reply and a fake promise.

Important! Always finish time‑bound tasks before 4 pm - recoveries, renewals, meetings, disbursements, etc.

Keep an eye on branch mail; some tasks may require late sitting, so finish them early.

I wrap up my work by 6:00 pm every day and then wander outside to kill time, because the branch head can't accept that work can be done before 7 pm.

This is a genuine hack and a very effective way to work under those toxic BMs and RMs. The good part is they don't use Reddit, so they'll probably never see this post, lol.

Jugaad baithana padta hai basically.

Finally someone being a bit positive after all the negativity in this sub since the SBI PO notification.

I did the same. My BH complained to the RM, I was removed from the branch, got transferred every six months, and my love marriage was called off. Still dealing with the fallout.

Tricks of the trade!! Teach us more, ustad :)

Hundreds of posts appear daily complaining about how this is the worst job because of work‑life balance, sales pressure, etc.

This is the first one I've seen that actually offers solutions instead of just a demotivating rant. Big thanks, man!
