NGO workers lynched in Rayagada; woman molested & beaten

Two NGO workers were traveling and got lost following Google Maps. When they reached a village they asked for directions and chatted a bit with some kids. Rumors spread that they were child‑lovers, and a mob formed.

As you can see in the video, one of the two was a female. The attackers took the chance to strip her, molest her and beat her.

Only a few people tried to protect them; most were just shouting at the girl. Eventually some people helped her onto a vehicle and she managed to escape.

Reading this makes my blood boil. This isn't the first incident - rural areas often go unchecked and unleash hell. Remember the Jharkhand case where tribals assaulted a biker couple.

In this case 16 people have been arrested, but I doubt they'll stay behind bars for long.

My heart aches for the two victims who fell into such a situation.

This is a very unpleasant situation; authorities need to step in and calm things down. I can't imagine how it feels for both sides - the NGO workers traveling far to do good work and now facing such an awful ordeal.

Viksit Bharat - people think India is developed, but travel just 50 km outside any metro and you see the reality, just like in this video. Those low‑life people just wanted to molest her. Educated folks often underestimate the ignorance of an uneducated mob.
