I have friends across corporate who earn handsome salaries, but their job security is shaky and they're not happy with the work.

I've noticed a trend among the upper‑middle‑class crowd in NCR.

Men who already have a car and a house are leaning towards entrepreneurship. My friends say, "We need wives who work and bring in a respectable salary, not someone stuck in a receptionist‑type job."

They want that because they need financial security while they take the entrepreneurial risk, so that basic bills are covered even when the startup is in its early stage.

With uncertain job security, people want their wives to earn decent money to avoid a financial crisis.

This has created a demand for wives earning around 20 LPA. Even government teachers or lecturers are highly valued.

Shruti

That's fine. There are profiles looking for husbands earning 100 LPA, so why not look for wives at the same level?

Sohan

People can demand whatever they like; whether they actually get it is another matter.

Mahima

20 LPA isn't a huge amount, to be fair, these days.

Ishaan

So, are these men just gold‑diggers?

Shashi

Lol... I'm looking for a wife who earns 50 LPA.

Kamal

I'm turning down matrimony profiles unless they earn at least 20 LPA.

Pranay

In my opinion, money should never be the main factor. A good, respectable wife is priceless; after that, live within the means you can afford.

Naman

I earn more than that but still can't find a decent guy.

Vinod

Sure, there's nothing wrong with men wanting partners who are equally accomplished and high‑earning.

But the husband should also be willing to pull his weight around the house. If he doesn't, the arrangement isn't fair.

It's unfair to expect women to do a double shift while the husband focuses on his entrepreneurial pursuits.
