It's not just Sikkim anymore. Tourists are going everywhere in huge numbers. Look at Himachal or Uttarakhand - their attractions are packed, traffic jams are endless. The situation is worsening and putting a lot of pressure on the mountain environment, which isn't built for such footfall.

There's no public transport, so everyone brings their own car to the hills. What's the point? Impose a high-priced permit on private vehicles and promote local transport.
