Need separate tag for IT/Tech finances

Every damn post I see is from some 24‑year‑old making 50 lakh per annum in a tier‑1 city. Even the comments feel like a flex. As a 26‑year‑old male, I want to see some normal posts that represent the rest of the professions.

Please don't say IT folks are a vocal minority on Reddit. There are Indian subs that aren't tech‑related with tens of thousands of subscribers.

Is IT the only way to big money? Opening this sub to learn anything feels like being dragged through dung.

Lokesh

I'm in IT and I earn 11 LPA at 26. So, chill.

Shruti

This is Reddit - 80% of people are just fake karma farmers.

Manav

Selective bias. There are tons of posts from IT folks earning 50 k to 1 lakh a month asking for advice.

Keerthi

I run my own business and earn about 2 cr.

Abhi kya? Kuch bhi number bol do.

Also, I'm 2 years old.

Bhavin

So let's create one.
Something like pfibelow20lakh.

Dhruv

While I get the frustration from posts like these, what makes you think that only IT professionals earn that money? I have a humanities background and, thanks to an MBA from an IIM, I earn a similar package that's irritating you, and I need help managing my finances. I'm not in IT. I know many people like me. It's easy to slap an umbrella label on everything, but you know what's easier? Either ignore a clearly karma‑farmed post, or have the mods ask for a salary screenshot when such high numbers are quoted. If it's not provided, the post shouldn't be approved. The platform has ways to deal with this, but the mods need to work harder and people need to be more aware.

Ankita

99% of people here are fake. Don't get disheartened by looking here.

Vinay

I'm a recruiter for techies! People who make it really do earn that kind of money. Comparison is a thief of joy!

Rajesh

Right you are.

May I suggest we also create a distinct tag or flair for individuals with substantial generational wealth?

Without a clear separation, the whole discussion gets muddled and exhausting.

Ananya

You're too late, bro. Being 24 means your life is over. I'm 12, working on AI B2B SaaS and I make 1.7 cr a week.
