Varkala: Not just a spot, it's a soft reset

This beach town shouldn't be this gorgeous. There are beachside cafés, Ayurvedic massages, morning surf sessions, sunset beach yoga, and evenings that end with live jam sessions by the shore. Varkala truly feels like a place where you just vanish and never want to come back.

So true - you go to Varkala for a short trip and end up falling in love with a beach town you barely knew before.

Please don't hype it up too much. Some entitled visitors from certain places end up trashing the spot and annoying the locals with their finger-snapping attitudes. Soon they might even put up a 'foreigners only' sign, lol.

Yeh, the scenery and the serenity are just awesome. I visited a month ago, but I still feel the urge to go back and explore more of Kerala. Honestly, I'm not a fan of the food there in Varkala, especially the sandwiches.

Where's the first picture from? Can you name the café, please? Thanks.

I just visited for a weekend and wow, it was beautiful!!!! Especially in the evenings. But the cliff side gets too crowded now, especially on Saturdays and Sundays. You can't even see where you're stepping.

Looks like an upper-middle-class person's sixth monthly reset this year. /S
