Which tour operator did you guys use and how much did it cost? Is it possible to do this trek on your own without any help?

I did my first solo trip to Kuari Pass with Trek The Himalayas at the end of February. Here's how it went -  Day 1: We drove from Rishikesh to Pipalkoti in a Traveller, it took us around 7 hours with stops for breakfast and lunch. The driver had some great music playing which made the journey pretty comfortable Day 2: From Pipalkoti we drove to Tugasi Village, which took around 2 hours, and then we started our trek to Guling Top. Try the rhododendron juice on the way, it's really good Day 3: The next day we trekked from Guling Top to Khullara Top, the terrain changed from dry and rocky to snow covered. Unfortunately, the night sky was not very clear because of the clouds and moon Day 4: This was the **Summit Day**, we trekked from Khullara to Kuari Pass and back, the view of the mountain range was breathtaking, we could see Dronagiri, Nanda Devi and many other peaks Day 5: We trekked back from Khullara Camp to Pipalkoti, and we had a dog with us all the way till the end Day 6: The last day we drove back from Pipalkoti to Rishikesh I'd give Trek The Himalayas 10 out of 10 for the food, the trek leaders were very experienced and supportive, and the setup was great. We had briefings every morning and evening to prepare us for the next day, they told us what to wear and what to expect. Before we started, they checked our blood pressure and oxygen levels, and we had daily oxygen checks and guidance on how to deal with AMS. The trek leaders knew a lot about the local terrain and had some great stories to share

Hi, I'm also planning to do the Kuari Pass Trek with IndiaHikes, and I'll be doing the Pagarchulla trek as well. Can you give me some suggestions on what shoes and trekking bag to use? What are the things I should and shouldn't carry? How many layers of clothes did you wear, did you really need that many?

Prem

We had a dog with us during our Kuari Pass Trek which we did in November
