Yesterday, I (27M) discovered that my long‑term girlfriend (25F) is a Bangladeshi who came to India illegally. We met in college five years ago, clicked instantly and started dating. Recently I moved to Germany for my PhD, so we've been doing long‑distance. I wanted to bring her here by marrying her and getting a spouse visa. When I asked for her passport details, she kept dodging the question. After a few months of pestering, she finally said she didn't have a passport and needed to apply for one. I told her we could do it together when I returned to India. I got back last week, but every time I bring up the passport she changes the subject, gets angry or starts petty fights. Yesterday she broke down, confessed that all her documents are fake, she's from Bangladesh, entered India illegally, and the family she told me about isn't her real family. I'm numb right now, don't know what to feel.
