Skin not feeling clean after shower

I use a loofah and shower gel and rinse well, but after I dry off, some dirty‑looking residue still comes off when I rub my skin. Scrubbing harder hasn't helped and it happens every time.

Has anyone faced this? Any tips or routine changes that worked for you?

That's not dirt, bro. It's just your skin. First off, don't rub hard even while showering. Treat your skin like a soft glass, not a stone. You don't even need a loofah—your hand is enough.

Some body washes leave a bit of residue for moisturising. Folks often think it's dirt. If that's what you're seeing, just switch the body wash.

Use an exfoliating glove. You can find them on Amazon.

I faced this too.
Shower as usual but use hot or warm water to soften the skin. Pat it dry so it's still a bit damp, then gently rub with a dry or slightly damp exfoliating glove or a regular hand towel. You'll see dead skin coming off. If you like, finish with a quick cold‑water rinse to soothe, and moisturise well afterwards.

I use an exfoliating glove that removes all dirt, sweat, and dead skin.

Can you describe the residue? Is it a greyish film on the skin or something else?

I had the same issue and hated how dead skin stuck to my towels. Just exfoliate. You don't need pricey chemical exfoliants or scrubs—an exfoliation glove does the job. I got one for ₹150‑200. Learn how to care for it and you're set. Don't overdo it; once a week is enough.

If you still use a loofah or pumice stone, ditch them. Loofahs just scratch your skin hard. You want cleaner skin, not a new layer.

Yes, I had the same problem.

Before bathing, apply coconut oil or any oil that suits you, then wait 2‑3 hours (or as convenient) before you shower.

I stopped using loofahs and those creamy soaps or body washes. Synthetic loofahs don't help; I only use natural brown loofahs about once a month.

I use a salicylic‑acid‑based body wash twice a week. Sometimes I even use Vatika brown‑bottle shampoo as a body wash—it feels nice on the skin, probably because of reetha.

Afterward I just apply a simple body lotion.

Why not use an exfoliating glove along with a body scrub?
