Anyone else faced similar harassment?

Just a few days back I was chatting with my mum about sexual harassment and groping at train stations and inside trains. She said it's true these things happen a lot, but at least now we have ladies coaches. When she went to college there were no separate women's coaches – everything was a general coach. She told me about an acquaintance's daughter, a girl in 6th or 8th standard, whose school was 3‑4 stations from home. One day her mother was washing her skirt and found it soaked with a sticky white substance. That wasn't a one‑off – it happened multiple times. Whenever I think about it I feel really sick. I've had my fair share of harassment and stalking, but seeing this happen to a literal kid leaves me speechless.

I've been catcalled, stared at and even molested while travelling on public transport, so I've promised myself I'll never use it again and I won't let my daughter use it either.

The first time I rode the train I was in the middle berth with my cousin in the lower berth and a guy in the upper berth. It was around 4 or 5 PM. I was lying down with my eyes closed when the guy from the upper berth got down and rubbed something on my feet. I wasn't fully aware of what was happening and felt a bit relaxed because my cousin was there, so I didn't react right away. I looked down and saw a white, sticky substance on my foot – it took me about 10 to 15 seconds to realise what it was. I felt so embarrassed and absolutely dirty. I didn't even get a chance to slap him because he jumped off at the next station. The fact that people have the audacity to do this in public just shows how weak our laws are.
