I decided to try road running for endurance, but even at 5:30 am there were people catcalling. It's insane! My dad was with me, sitting in a car behind, yet those creeps couldn't stop themselves from making me uncomfortable while I was just minding my business. They were howling like madmen. It got so awkward that I thought, road running isn't for me. I'd rather deal with creeps at the gym—at least they don't howl.

Give them a stare back! You could also learn boxing and carry a pepper spray. Sorry for suggesting things that shouldn't be needed in a civil society.

Well, there isn't much we can do about those people. The best you can do is go a bit earlier with your dad or brother.

Sorry to hear that. If you're in a big metro like Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Bangalore or Chennai, there are many running clubs with lots of women. Joining a pack can help.

Sorry to hear that. I've run with my wife and other women back in college. Going in a group usually helps. Is there a local running group you could join? Roads popular with runners tend to be safer.

That's messed up; you should be able to run in peace, especially at 5:30 am. If you still want road runs, try safer routes like parks or tracks, run with a group or a friend, and share your location. Otherwise, the gym or treadmill might be more comfortable.

Report to the nearest police station and file a complaint. Keep doing it regularly.

Which city are you in?
