I have never been consistent with my skincare. My skin gets super oily with cream‑based products, so only light, water‑based or gel‑based stuff works for me. It gets extra oily in humid weather - especially on the coast - and in summer, while it feels a bit dry in winter.

A family member is coming to India via South Korea (Incheon) and I want to order some Korean skincare through them.

I have closed comedones and pigmentation around my lips, forehead and chin.

I haven't used sunscreen for two years. I need a good toner, moisturizer, sunscreen and serum that won't turn me into an oily, sweaty mess.

I'm on the darker side of South Indian skin, and most sunscreens leave a white cast.

Allergy - shellfish and dust. I tried Kozicare cream on my forehead (my friend's) once and woke up with irritated, puffed‑up eyes. Some sunscreens make my eyes burn and water - Acne‑UV is one of those.

My current products (see image):

Bioderma Micellar water
Acne Star face wash
Cipla salicylic acid face wash
Vilvah Milk Drops Toner - thinking of changing
Physiogel moisturizing lotion - recommended by my derm
Aqurea 10 moisturizer
Seba Med face care gel - night gel (super thick)
Neutrogena Hydro Boost gel - need suggestions
Acne‑UV sunscreen - makes my eyes watery, need alternatives
Laneige lip mask
NMF lip balm
Beauty of Joseon under‑eye cream - used once or twice, need usage tips

I would love to know what worked for you if you have oily, pigmented and dehydrated skin. Please share suggestions or opinions on the products listed below.

Skip the Tonymoly toner - it has essential oils, gave me breakouts and whiteheads. I have dehydrated combination skin.

Hi, how's the Laneige lip sleeping mask working for you?

Charu

Too much product, just use an exfoliating face wash and a salicylic‑acid serum and you'll be fine.

For oily, dehydrated skin with closed comedones and pigmentation, the ingredients that actually move the needle are pretty simple.

First, sunscreen. If you want to fade pigment without daily sunscreen, you're fighting yourself. Since you have deeper skin and hate a white cast, look for lightweight chemical filters in a gel or fluid base rather than mineral formulas. Because your eyes are sensitive, do a patch test around the orbital area first - some filters sting more than others.

For the closed comedones, salicylic acid is the most useful ingredient. It's oil‑soluble, so it gets into clogged pores better than most soothing or brightening products. Use it a few times a week, not twice a day with multiple other actives.

For pigmentation, azelaic acid is the first choice. It helps both acne and post‑inflammatory pigment without being as irritating as stronger acids. Niacinamide can help too, but I see it more as a support player.

If you want one ingredient that tackles both comedones and pigment over time, a retinoid is the big one. That's what I'd pick over adding a random toner or eye cream. Start slow, because oily skin can still be dehydrated and irritated.

For hydration, focus less on fancy toners and more on a light moisturizer with glycerin, panthenol, maybe hyaluronic acid, and barrier ingredients like ceramides. Centella is nice if your skin gets irritated, but it won't clear comedones or fade stubborn pigment by itself.

So, simplifying by ingredients, I'd do:
- Salicylic acid for clogs
- Azelaic acid for pigment and redness
- Retinoid for long‑term payoff
- Light humectant + barrier moisturizer
- Daily sunscreen you'll actually wear

And I'd skip the idea that you need a toner, eye cream and five serums. Those are the easiest places to waste money without much change.
