I remember the Simbu‑Dhanush movies where they'd throw digs, and even other films where actors would poke fun at themselves or each other's movies through dialogues.

It felt like friendly teasing. Vere yethavathu Nyabakam vandhacha? That's the only line I recall. If you know any, please suggest.

Sathyaraj sir was the ultimate in these spoofs. I still crack up whenever I watch the Mahanadigan, Englishkaaran and Kovai Brothers spoof comedies.

Thoongura appa kooda double meaning-laye thoonguran paaru - Jayam spoof

Pranay

There are plenty of low-budget spoof films still coming out, trying to parody current movies and trending topics. They're usually worth only .5 to 1 star, so they go unnoticed.

Ada paavi, ipdi unmaiya pesi mudugula kuthitiye, Mudugula kuththa nee enna Ajith Kumar aa!

My favorite has always been Koundamani and Chinni Jayanth referencing the Nayagan dialogue: Naan adicha nee setuduve https://youtu.be/YKyGSmiC1nE?t=2m33s ... cut to broken lattis

Gregg

Sathyaraj was at his peak back then. He churned out movie after movie between 2004 and 2007, and none of them were seriously serious.

Naresh

In the same movie he also takes a dig at Dhanush and even at Sibir. Nobody's safe from Sathyaraj.

Kadhal Bharath spoof was so funny the heroine struggled to hold back her laugh lol
