Rating restaurants that use plastic containers for hot meals

I rate them based solely on whether the food comes in a plastic container, no matter how tasty it is. I only give a good rating when the dish isn't packed in plastic - this is my way of showing how lax they are about micro-plastics in our diet.

I'm not naming any specific place because many cut costs this way. What else can we do?

EDIT - For those telling me to cook at home, I already do that every day. It was just one hectic day when I wasn't prepared for my meal to be in a plastic box.

You're just ordering blindly - what if they use micro-plastics while storing the food you eat? You don't even know if they wash their hands properly. I ordered rolls from a well-known place with good packaging, but when I visited, I saw the guy heating the roll base while scrolling on his smartphone. So don't judge a place only by its packaging.

Isn't that over 70 % of restaurants out there?

Fuck yeah, this is a real issue. Some places line the container with butter paper for dry items, others even use banana leaf.

They should offer an option to pay a bit more for non-plastic containers - I'd take that.

On the flip side, places like YYC go overboard with packaging - box inside a box inside a bag. It's ridiculous. The only sensible move is to order as rarely as possible.

Most people already wear endocrine-disrupting gear while training, so a take-out once a week won't move the needle much.

Smaller joints with thin margins have no choice but to use plastic containers to stay competitive. Having a standard is fine, but it mainly applies to big chains or pricey places.

Do you expect it in a Borosil, stainless-steel, or clay pot? What other option is there if not plastic? Should we start serving curries in paper? I'm genuinely confused.

The food you eat is grown in soil already contaminated with micro-plastics and heavy metals.

Unless you're growing your own crops in a pristine Himalayan forest soil and drinking water from the Swiss Alps, you can't completely avoid those contaminants.

Also, your ratings won't mean much to any restaurant, lol.

Don't worry, gang. A few clueless folks will always be around.

If you care about your health, stop ordering from restaurants, mate.

The most refreshing thing I've read today is someone actually thinking before eating, instead of just swiping right on whatever comes in plastic wrap. Rare species.

Well, brother!!!!!!!!!
