I've had irregular periods since December. In January I took an emergency pill even though we used protection, and my cycles stayed irregular. Yesterday I visited a gynaecologist. The ultrasound showed a 3 mm endometrium and everything else was normal. When she found out I'd taken the pill, she became judgmental and kept pushing ozone therapy at her clinic for 3.5k and supplements from there. She prescribed Regestrone CR for 10 days and said I'll get withdrawal bleeding again. My last period ended on the 31st, but I bled again on 8 April. Google says 3 mm is normal, but the way she spoke scared me.

I'm posting this for a friend who doesn't have much karma. She asked me to share her experience. Her gynaecologist felt weird – she's 19. Was she manipulated because she's young and alone, or was the treatment proper? She's been having irregular periods since December. In January she took an i‑pill out of paranoia, even though the sex was protected, and the irregularity continued. Yesterday she saw a gynaecologist who was initially very friendly, complimented her and even blessed her. After the ultrasound showed a 3 mm endometrium (everything else normal), the doctor turned judgmental the moment she heard about the i‑pill. She also suggested ozone therapy at her own clinic for 3.5k and urged her to buy vitamin supplements there. She gave her Regestrone CR for 10 days and said she'll have withdrawal bleeding again in 10 days. Her last period ended on the 31st, but she bled again on 8 April (just a week later). Google says 3 mm is normal, yet the doctor's tone scared her.

Birth control can help regularise periods, but I wouldn't recommend it to everyone. I have PCOD and my gynaecologists always suggested it, and the symptoms are a nightmare.

Yeah, that sounds fishy. Which city are you in? My gynaecologist is amazing and one of the least judgmental doctors I've met.

Sanjay

Go to a different gynaecologist, dear. One bad doctor isn't the end of the world.

It sounds more like scare tactics and upselling. A 3 mm lining right after a period can be normal, and ozone therapy isn't standard. Getting a second opinion from another doctor is the safest move.
