Did you know the Hindi film Queen (2014) was remade in four South Indian languages, but none of those versions ever saw a release? The official remakes were Paris Paris in Tamil, That Is Mahalakshmi in Telugu, Zam Zam in Malayalam and Butterfly in Kannada. All four were finished around 2017‑2018 and even some trailers came out, but they're stuck in limbo and probably shelved. Pretty wild, right?

Darshan

I don't think it's the kind of movie that has the flavours South India enjoys, and that's no disrespect. It wasn't a huge success in the North either.

Aditya

They could've easily trimmed it to at least two versions across the four states, in my opinion, but I also find it funny that none of them released. It's been almost a decade now.

I think one reason is that, unlike the Hindi‑speaking audience who prefer a Hindi dub or remake, South Indian viewers tend to watch the original version, so many would have seen the original and weren't keen on remakes.

Abhishek

Yeah, I can spot the Malayalam one just by looking at the poster.

Nikita

I went back and watched all five trailers, and I must say Amit Trivedi's music really makes the Hindi trailer stand out!

Sakshi

The Tamil movie Made In Korea has a plot that resembles Queen's on a broad level.

Sharmila

A wasted South Indian attempt to remake it. It would have flopped in all four languages. I'm South Indian myself.

Seeing the Malayalam poster, I thought they were announcing Kerala Story 3.
