If SSR wants to attract the core US audience, they can't charge absurd prices

Aman

My question is, will Varanasi have normal rates or will they charge sky‑high tickets to break the record?

Omkar

True, if SSR changes things, all movies will follow. They started the first price hikes for Varanasi premieres, setting the rate. Passes should be enabled from day 1 at a regular price of $10. Then both foreigners and Indians will watch, giving a longer run.

Chitra

Price hikes started with Rajamouli, hand them over to the cops

Gregg

I'd disagree about Rajamouli. I think he'll also push for price hikes.

He was the one who started them, and he had a better reason than anyone else.

It's all market‑driven. Telugu films will command higher prices because people are willing to pay, regardless of the hype around the hero.

It's rare to see a ₹200 ticket in Hyderabad multiplexes for a Telugu film. I don't expect Varanasi's prices to be any lower.

Keshav

LOL, for premieres the minimum will be $25‑30 for standard seats and $35‑40 for premium formats like IMAX or Dolby.

Vaishali

I live in the US, and my first shock from ticket hikes was for SVSC at $25. Since then I avoid movies with price gouging and wait for them to hit streaming.

Suresh

SSR introduced the $25 ticket price; Varanasi will push it to $40 for IMAX. This guy is dreaming... lol
