2026 Grad: Campus offer cancelled, no internship/experience, feeling lost

Hi everyone,

I'm a 2026 CSE graduate from India and I really don't know what to do now.

I got selected through my college's on-campus placements. Usually the company sends offer letters in June after we graduate.

This year, however, the company withdrew the offers for everyone who was selected. So now we are all graduates with no job.

The worst part is that I have no internship or professional experience. Most openings ask for experience, and even many 'entry-level' roles need skills I haven't got a chance to use in a real work setting.

Right now, I'm ready to work in any genuine fresher role - software development, backend, frontend, full-stack, QA, support, or anything where I can start my career and learn.

I feel stuck in the middle of nowhere. I've been applying, but the rejections and silence are making me lose hope.

I'm not looking for sympathy, just guidance.

* What should I do from here?
* Where should I apply as a 2026 fresher with no experience?
* Are there companies still hiring fresh graduates?
* Has anyone been in a similar spot and managed to bounce back?

Any advice, referrals, job boards, or guidance would mean a lot.

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Sorry to hear that. What was the offered CTC? Did they say it was because of AI?

Shivendra

Do we have no recourse? Can't we file something and claim the pay for the months that were promised? Are there any laws against this?

Ansh

First of all, don't feel disappointed. Bad things happen; it's part of life.

Make a plan to get a job. Update your LinkedIn and use AI as much as possible.

You said entry-level roles require skills you haven't used in a real work environment. Look, you're a fresher - nobody expects you to be an architect. Companies just want to see that you've at least touched those skills. Pick a skill you're not familiar with and ask ChatGPT for the top 20 interview questions on it. Knowing those is already helpful.

Apply to as many positions as you can and tailor your resume to each job description.

No internship, no experience is okay, but do you have any personal projects, college projects, or open-source contributions? Not just code snippets, but something non-trivial that you understand deeply.

You can also try applying for internships instead of full-time roles.

Gregg

You're lucky to have some time; use it to your advantage. Prepare for GATE, try cold-emailing, create new projects not just for the resume but that add real value.

Akshara

Bro, sorry to hear that.

I can help you get a proper internship certificate if that helps - free of course.

Deepika

Always remember, there will be openings as long as you have the right skills, regardless of market conditions.

Pavithra

You're basically stuck, but keep trying. Get together with friends, start a company, ship open-source projects. Find someone to handle sales and marketing full-time, and keep reaching out to people to sell.
