i think the indian education system has failed us and the toppers are proof of that

my qualifications are that i went through the indian education system and now i can see how it affects people around me, so think about the kid in your class who always scored really high, the one who got praised by teachers and whose name was announced in assemblies, where are they now, in most cases they are just doing some safe job and following a routine without questioning anything, and that is not their fault, the system trained them to do that, it rewarded kids who memorized answers and not those who asked why, so the toppers learned to not take risks and just follow the formula, which got them good marks and a stable job, but the qualities that made them toppers are the same qualities that stop them from doing something new, because that requires taking risks and figuring things out on your own, which the system never taught us, we were taught to just perform and get marks, not to think or question or create, just perform and repeat, the kid who scored average but was curious and tried new things was called a disappointment, but that curiosity is what matters in the real world, i am not saying toppers are not smart, they are, but the system pointed their smartness in one direction only and called it success, that is the real failure, what do you think, did the topper in your class end up where you expected

Bhavya

among my school toppers, one works at Meta and the other is a priest in Mumbai

Ganesh

high school is just the starting point of education, scoring high does not mean someone's creativity is stunted, india has a problem with rote learning, but many toppers have done well in life and their grades opened up opportunities for them

Douglas

at least the ones who scored 95 percent got more than they gave

Hari

our education system produces employees, not employers, most people go for a safe job option, but some do achieve

i know what four toppers from my class are doing, two are doctors, one is in the us, one is a data professional in the us, and one is a software engineer at google in hyderabad, they are all doing great

Varunesh

one of my classmates is now preparing for neet and another is studying quantum physics

Aarav

i was a topper and i learned to be creative and take risks after school, it is a learned trait and i am glad i picked it up early, it broadened my mind and horizon

yes, and that is why alternative systems like montessori education are becoming popular, they support and understand children better
