Perioral dermatitis - any solution?

I've managed the lip swelling and itching by using very mild products and only putting on Clinique lipstick when I have to, but I still get this nasty white patch on the upper lip that makes me super self‑conscious. Is there any fix? Dermatologists say I just need to find the trigger. Let me know if anything has worked for you.
