No WiFi, talk to each other, pretend it’s 1995 – could you survive?

No notifications, no scrolling—just conversations, views, and peace. Do you think you could live like this for a few days? Or would you lose your mind without WiFi?

Saad

If folks can roast back instead of taking offence, I think I'd be fine.

The best way to enjoy life and chat with people is to live like that, in a place like this.

I've managed a couple of days without even looking at my phone back in 2019, but that was a one‑off in my whole life.

I went to Ladakh, told my mom I'd be off the network for about 48 hours and would call when I could. I was really enjoying the break until I hit Rohtang Pass and got signal back. Total chaos. Cousins couldn't reach me, friends started checking with each other, everyone began drawing conclusions – some even thought I'd run away from home. My phone flooded with messages and missed calls, and that calm headspace flipped to anxiety in seconds. Made me realise a digital detox sounds great in theory, but in practice you need at least basic network – not for scrolling, just so people know you're okay.

That's the perk of traveling – it's totally doable for a few days. I do digital‑detox weekends by going on short trips for exactly this reason. Not as a punishment, just a reset from everything.

Pretend it's 1995? Count me in! I'd trade my Reels for a paper map that never folds back right. With the Mercury hitting 36°C in Delhi today (April 1), the only place I want is a no‑WiFi café up in the hills where the only status update is the wind. Anyone found a spot like this lately? Even the monks in Spiti seem to have Starlink now! 10/10 would lock my phone away for that vibe.
