Oracle has let go of 30k employees worldwide. That's huge.

Mister

How much is the severance package?

Ganesh

It's good they are getting severance.

Aarohi

Who are they laying off – experienced staff or freshers?

Monica

Layoffs have been happening since 2023. No IT firm escaped them in 2025, and 2026 is just a continuation. I hope this chaos ends soon and the industry can grow again, but it's tough for those affected. Maybe we don't realise it yet, but AI is changing how software is built and maintained. Humans might not even be able to maintain or upgrade AI‑generated software.

Isha

I heard that layoffs in just the first three months of 2026 have already topped the total for the whole of 2025. Is that true?

Amar

Mid‑level professionals are feeling the pinch the most right now.

Namrata

I've been jobless for a year. Right now I'm delivering orders for Zomato – a steady income feels secure, but it's scary seeing all these layoffs.

Manisha

That's why they say we should aim for a government job from childhood.

Ajay

They even turned down the GET offers, leaving our college students with no options, as our TNP also won't let them sit for other companies.

Vivek

Will this finally make people realise the need for unions? Oracle couldn't pull this off in France or the Netherlands. We sold our services and our country at the cost of our people. It's not too late to fix it.
