I got married in Feb 2022. Everything was fine for the first three months, then arguments started. Between Feb 2022 and Jan 2023 she started visiting her parents' house more often. In Jan 2023 she left our home and the situation worsened. She filed a dowry‑harassment case under 498A and later filed for divorce on grounds of cruelty. I didn't accept the cruelty claim, and eventually it was changed to a mutual divorce. We were officially divorced in Aug 2025, after being separated for almost three years. Now she's calling, wanting us to get back together.

I've recently found a new, unmarried match. Her family isn't as well‑off as my first wife's, but I'm earning 2 Lakh per month. My ex doesn't want my mother to stay with us – she's asking to live elsewhere or at my grandmother's place. The new girl is well‑behaved, understands values and relationships, and treats me with respect.

My ex keeps saying we shouldn't have divorced. What should I do? Any advice would help.

Listen to your heart and reread what you wrote; it will show you who the right choice is.

Akbar

Don't go back to your ex‑wife; that chapter is closed. Be upfront with your new prospect about your mother staying with you, so there's no surprise later.

Pradeep

You should have seen the answer when you mentioned divorce due to harassment.

Payal

Do you really want another 498A case? Those take years to settle. Thank God you got out of the first one quickly. Block your ex and move on; a second divorce won't be simple.

Bhavya

She filed a dowry‑harassment case, possibly to pressure you. If the allegations are false, don't go back—tell her you've moved on.

Aarav

I can't believe anyone missed such a big red flag.

Varunesh

If the divorce was truly mutual, there's no harm in trying again... but not with someone who filed false cases to extort money.

Madhav

I'm curious how you managed to dodge those cases.

Jai

I think you've already found your answer by writing all this down; journaling really helps.
