Why pay 900 bucks for a ticket and still have to sit through ads

I just watched Dhurandhar 2 in Bangalore and the ticket price was around 950 rupees per person. The movie was supposed to start at 4:40 PM but as usual it started at 5:05 PM. We had to sit through 25 minutes of ads. I mean I paid 950 rupees for this, it's not like I got it for free or something. I know this has been going on for ages but I'm surprised nobody ever questions it. If I'm paying such a huge amount for a show just because of supply and demand, I don't see why I should also have to watch 20 minutes of ads. This really needs to stop

I'm a big fan of single screen cinemas. I totally hate PVR and INOX and all those multiplex chains. It just doesn't feel like a real cinema experience in those places. They let us in half an hour late and then we have to watch ads for another 30 minutes before the movie even starts. Single screens are way better, they either don't show ads or they show them during the interval or just for a few minutes before the show. And the food is way cheaper too

Which theater is this, I've booked tickets for Sunday evening and I paid 500 rupees per person

I thought you were joking about that BJP ad they showed in the film

When it's PVR or INOX, just walk in 20 minutes late. Problem solved

In India, ordinary people like us get taken for a ride at every step of life

Why on earth did you pay 950 rupees for a ticket, in Hyderabad you won't find any place that charges more than 395 rupees for a ticket

I only pay to watch movies in IMAX, but yeah, the ads can be really boring
