How I got my PS5 at launch

I've been seeing many folks trying to buy a PS5 now, and it's out of stock everywhere. Same thing happened at launch, probably because of mismanagement, and that actually worked in my favour and my friend's.

I got mine at launch in black for just 35k. It was crazy how I ended up with this console.

My friend had ordered a PS5 at launch (can't mention the website, lol).

As soon as the PS5 came back in stock, he received it. Two weeks later, another unit was delivered. When he checked the website it showed his order as not delivered (internal fault). He clarified that he had already received it and that the extra piece was left at his house, so he booked a return and pickup.

But no one came to collect it. After a month, he suddenly got a notification saying the order was picked up and received.

He kept me posted throughout, and eventually sold it to me for 35k.

Can't mention the website? Why?

Hey, I'm a Day‑1 PS5 owner in India too. I even told all my friends to place their orders the moment the sale started.

This brings me back. I'm also one of the lucky ones who got a PS5 on the very first launch back in 2021 for 50k - feels like ages ago.

Interesting fact: I recently visited Japan and saw a second‑hand PS5 Pro in good condition selling for about 53k, while a brand‑new PS5 Slim (disc version) was around 33k after conversion. The PS5 here still hasn't dropped from its retail price of 50k; just checked and it's now 55k in India.

The website is Sony itself, right?
