IT pros, do you love your job?

I am a CSE 6th sem student. From day 1 (3rd sem) I hated it, zero interest in coding. Joined CSE because of the scope and good pay compared to other streams.

Three years later I haven't moved an inch in programming skills. I've cleared all papers with about 8 GPA, but that's just memorising; I never got the logic of programs.

At the start of this semester I tried learning Python but just couldn't. I can't picture doing this forever, and I also dislike corporate culture.

Right now I'm preparing for the SSC CGL (government job) exam, hoping to crack it in 2027.

I want to ask everyone doing well in IT – do you actually like what you do?

At least, do you not hate it?

Are you in it just for the money?

Are you happy now?

Aren't you worried about future layoffs?

Would love some advice, thanks.

I can't stand folks who are in this field just for the cash.

Everyone should follow their passion. I'm in IT and I love what I do, and I dislike working with people who are only after money. Things were better back when tech was niche and genuine programmers were around.

I'm currently preparing for the SSC CGL (govt job) exam, hoping to crack it in 2027. Best decision.

I was super passionate about IT and now work at a FAANG company, but AI has drained all the excitement.

It no longer feels intellectually challenging; we're just reviewing AI‑generated code.

What about those who don't know what they love or what their passion is? I just finished 12th, have no clear passion. My parents are fine with whatever I study, but since I can't decide, they suggested I take Computer Science Engineering at least until I figure something out. I know once I get into it, it's tough to get out and I might end up stuck.
