Short story of post‑marriage life

Pooja

I got married about 1.5 years ago. My job is hybrid - one week in the office and the other three weeks I can work from anywhere.

The office is in my hometown, so before marriage I could just go there. After tying the knot, my husband got a job in another city, so I moved with him and now I fly back to my hometown every month.

In the past three months my husband and I opened a joint credit card and we use it a lot for reward points. He usually tells me how much I owe on each statement.

I never bothered to check until now and noticed my expenses have dropped by roughly 4k. Turns out he's started covering half of my flight costs because I only have to travel due to his job being elsewhere.

I tried to reimburse him, but he got quite irritated when I brought it up.

Hope this little story gives you a bit of faith after a weekend of exhausting dates!

Nakul

It doesn't really boost my faith. I have friendships that feel far less transactional than this. The whole situation feels more like a coworker relationship than a husband‑wife one.

Aman

Please don't turn this into a strict transaction. Maybe he's just showing his love that way. As long as he isn't expecting anything in return, just let it be.

Manish

Going on dates, exhausting or not, just enjoy them!

Yash

Congrats! Wishing you both a wonderful married life.
