Today at the gym, two guys were doing squats. After they finished I was already standing there waiting. As soon as they were done, the boy with me and I grabbed the bar – there was nobody else – and started my set.

Suddenly a girl came and started using the squat rack. I told her she wasn't there earlier and had just arrived. She claimed she was already there. I politely asked her to wait a bit because I had just begun, and it would be a hassle to keep changing the weights. I asked her to let me finish my set first and then she could go.

Without saying a word to me, she went to the trainer and complained that I wasn't letting her squat. The trainer then approached me with a rude tone and body language, questioning me in front of everyone, like "Why aren't you letting her use it?" He didn't even try to understand my side and kept shouting at me for at least 20 minutes.

I didn't argue much and continued my workout, but my mood was completely ruined. I was extremely angry at that time, but I controlled myself and said nothing.

Now I'm back home and still feeling a lot of anger.

Pooja

You know how gym trainers prioritize things, right?

Basavaraj

Imagine such a fragile ego that she ran to the trainer like a child instead of waiting. Some people are just like that. I could list at least ten ways to make her so uncomfortable she'd quit the gym, and none of those are things decent guys would do.

Murali

You handled it very maturely. Just let them bark. The world is full of stupid people; you don't have to react to everything. You pay them anyway, so if they keep this nonsense just switch gyms. Don't overthink it.

Rohit

This is your trainer when 'you know who' asks for help.

Sohan

All of them are total idiots, bro. Don't worry, don't get angry. If you start swearing in anger you'll just spike cortisol and kill your gains. Tomorrow give that trainer a death stare. If his body is messed up, he'll end up hurting himself first.

Aman

Thank God I go to a local gym. It's not the fanciest, but all the machines work and everyone knows each other, even the trainer.

Pradeep

Bro, keep a safe distance of about ten steps from nonsense and idiots. Stay calm and you'll be fine.

Ishita

What can you do now? You stayed quiet when it happened, and now you want to act?

Hardik

Honestly, just quit the gym. I wouldn't pay to be disrespected like that.

Dilip

Isn't a gym trainer just a contractor? You don't have to follow their orders unless they're staff.
