Meanwhile, IAS officer Rinku Singh Rahee, the whistleblower, was mostly ignored by the media because of this nonsense.

A watch worth 8.5 lakh and a Range Rover costing 2.7 crore – both husband and wife want to become DGPs together, so they're already acting big.

Just seeing that Range Rover made me understand, brother.

He's practically the right‑hand man of the Yogi government. I'm not sure how much they spent, but the wedding was definitely lavish and very PR‑focused.

That wedding seemed pushed by the IPS lobby and the ruling party. You could see many retired and serving DG‑level officers and politicians at the ring ceremony, even though it was held in a tiny place called Babrala deep inside Sambhal (UP). Officers who wouldn't even travel 5 km to a colleague's daughter's wedding in Noida/NCR showed up. With the ruling party's backing, the IPS (and IRS and defence) lobby is trying to challenge the IAS lobby's long‑standing dominance. The IAS's hold is slowly eroding, and this wedding was just one move on the larger power chessboard – another being the CAPF bill, Ajit Doval's supremacy, etc.

I'm fed up seeing their videos all over my X feed.

Why does everyone think that once someone becomes an officer, they were just eating langar before? Their background was already strong before they got the job. People just don't realise that after getting the post, they started seeing money.
