What a stellar performance from Deepak Kumar – he's really come a long way. After losing the national finals, he's now taken down one of the toughest guys in his weight class. The highlights don't capture the whole fight; in my view Deepak won all three rounds with razor‑sharp timing and defence, slipping in counters right in the middle of Asadullaev's explosive combos. He used his strength well, getting inside, leaning in and cutting off Khavasbek's short hooks. Brilliant display, and fingers crossed he can handle Zeyad Eashash next, a seasoned Olympian with top‑level wins.
