I'm just asking from a craft perspective, how can we tell if the editing is bad?

OG isn't badly edited. It felt a bit rushed, but not totally shoddy. The rest, Sitara really messed them up at the editing desk.

Recently? He was the editor for Acharya.

One example – the Bhale Bhale Banjara song had fade‑ins and fade‑outs. That kills the dance momentum; most songs use hard cuts or crazy transitions. The fight scenes also feel sloooooowwwww, like they were slowed down from the original footage.

Maybe I'm being harsh. When he's good, he's great. When he's bad, it's glaring.

Lucky Baskhar got the editing? Ultimately the director holds the reins. If the editing isn't good, it could be because the required output wasn't clear or the capacity wasn't there, so the editor isn't to blame; he's not the captain of the ship.

To be honest, all three movies were already messed up before they even hit the editing table. I don't know what more could have been done.

I've been watching his work from Guntur Karaam onward... the editing is just terrible. He edits with such carelessness—Guntur Karaam, Kingdom, Funky—all look like shoddy jobs. Even the pre‑release hype for Vamsi's upcoming film was overblown. If Kingdom's edit had been any funkier, someone would've actually done the editing. You can see the continuity errors everywhere... he's a real cut‑and‑paste editor.

In my view, he's a pretty bad editor. He just got lucky landing blockbuster projects and became famous. His editing finesse hardly shows up in any film—maybe a couple of scenes at best.

Kingdom's editing was rubbish! The scenes you saw in the trailer are nowhere in the film, the climax is a mess, and there's zero emotion. They tried to make Gowtam look like a hero, but it just turned into a disaster. OG was only average, nothing special. I haven't even watched Funky.

OG was still somewhat watchable. Kingdom was terrible. A film that could have been just mediocre turned into utter trash because of the direction and editing.

I've said this in another comment a few days ago.

Naveen Nooli's editing feels rushed during the world‑building and story‑laying parts. It seems he's more focused on hitting emotional highs as fast as possible. I know he's fully on the hype train, and the more hype moments he forces in, the more the film's collections seem guaranteed. He doesn't let the movie or story breathe.
