Do you think he's even trying to take his films seriously? The last two or three movies he directed—like Circus and Singham 3—were total nonsense. I'm not getting any good vibes from Golmaal 5 either; I wanted it to work because it's nostalgic, but it just feels off.

Overrated. Extremely overrated. If David Dhawan had been making films back then, he would have been on another level. Sadly, they kept churning out movies during the family‑film phase, and the elites looked down on them.
He looks like a blend of Vivek Oberoi and Salman Khan!
After Golmaal 2, the flop director seemed to have lost his mind.
Some filmmakers keep using the same style even when audience tastes shift and the market wants fresh stories. Rohit is one of them. Compare his Zameen (2003) with Sooryavanshi (2021) or Singham Again (2024)—the formula is the same: clear good‑vs‑evil, no narrative depth, slow‑motion entries, punchy dialogues, action‑comedy mix, and big explosions. He doesn't take narrative risks, which is obvious in his latest release Singham Again, where he just mirrors the Ramayana instead of reinventing his storytelling.
He and Ajay Devgn are two deluded veterans trying to act young.
He's more of an entertainer than a director. Most Indian directors are just entertainers; they don't explore cinema's true artistic potential. They can manage a big set and handle star tantrums, but everything else is just the bare minimum or optional.
He never makes original movies; they're all copies. Neeraj Vora wrote the classic Golmaal Fun Unlimited, and Rohit's been milking that money ever since.
He's like the Indian Michael Bay. Some western fan might say he did Transformers, so I'll address that: Transformers was to the West what Singham is to India. Both churn out loud, over‑the‑top spectacles.
He never claimed to make serious cinema; his movies are deliberately non‑serious entertainers. Some work, some don't, but that doesn't mean everyone should trash him. His success and reach far outstrip many Bollywood folks who pretend to hate Hindi cinema yet keep copying 70s Hollywood for film festivals, burning money at the box office while calling themselves auteurs. Talking highly about intelligence is fine, but it doesn't automatically make a film cheap or bad.
Singham was his last decent film.
