The film's budget could go up to around 40 crore, and even with just good word‑of‑mouth it might collect. Since the batch that worked with Sesh is now moving on, others won't be interested, so there's not much point in marketing it.
April 10 isn't a great date for this film, in my opinion. The IPL just started, so it'll be a headwind.

- Pradeep Ranganathan's LIK releases the same day; his last three films did well with Gen‑Z and families.
- Dhurandhar 2 is still running strong and holding Hindi screens in Hyderabad/Telangana.

- Dhurandhar 2 remains strong and dominates most screens.
- The much‑awaited Akshay Kumar‑Priyadarshan film Bhooth Bangla also releases on the same date; it's a big‑scale project compared to Dacoit.

When a movie's promotion is weak, it usually means the studio has lost faith in it and is keeping the marketing spend low so the film can release quickly and fade away.

My friend was involved in pre‑production and production of the film. Apparently the story is set in COVID times and the shoot was halted twice, so the movie feels outdated. It's a routine commercial film and Sesh is trying to salvage it. Shruti was supposed to be the second lead but she left after about 30 days of shooting because of creative differences, which stalled the project. After a long search, Mrunal stepped in to rescue it. He later said the film will flop, but if any magic happens, it might be thanks to Sesh.
