Title: I'm getting breakouts around my nose after trying out some new skincare products
Post by: Arjun on Mar 05, 2026, 09:27 PM
Hey guys, I've started getting these small, inflamed bumps around my nose and it's pretty unusual for me. The only new products I've added to my routine in the last couple of weeks are: SKIN1004 Madagascar Centella Ampoule, Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence SPF50+ PA++++, and Mary & May Calendula Peptide Ageless Sleeping Mask (this one seems the most suspicious). I started getting breakouts soon after I introduced these products to my routine. My current skincare routine includes Dr. Althea Pure Grinding Cleansing Balm, CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser, ANUA Heartleaf Quercetinol Pore Deep Cleansing Foam, Laneige Cream Skin Refiner, Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence SPF50+ PA++++, and Allies of Skin Peptides & Antioxidants Lip Balm. I also use Biodance Collagen Gel Toner Pad, Caudalie Beauty Elixir, Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum, Caudalie Vinoperfect Glycolic Micropeel, Celimax Retinal Serum, The Ordinary Soothing & Barrier Support Serum, Axis-Y Mugwort Pore Clarifying Wash Off Pack, and Beauty of Joseon Red Bean Refreshing Pore Mask occasionally. Nothing else has changed recently, so I'm trying to figure out which of these new products is causing the breakouts. Has anyone else experienced nose-area breakouts or clogged pores from any of these products, especially the Mary & May sleeping mask?

You should only introduce one new product at a time. Stop using all of these and add them one by one to see which one is causing the issue. Give it a couple of weeks before adding a new product. Also, you already have a pretty extensive skincare routine, so what's the need to add more products?

Biore sunscreens break me out too

Biore sunscreens give me tiny, reddish-pink bumps. I have dry skin, and I've realized that any skincare product with alcohol doesn't work for me

One reason I stopped using Biore sunscreen is that it made my dry skin even drier. It can be harsh on the skin barrier for some people

Can you review the Mary & May product, please?

I've never had any issues with Skin1004 products, they're totally trustworthy. Maybe you're not giving the product enough time to absorb? If you've got a thick layer of product on your face for too long, it can cause bacteria to breed. And if you're using a lot of products, you need a good routine to remove them all. I use a gentle foaming cleanser (Neutrogena Ultra Gentle) and exfoliate once a week. I learned that the hard way when I used Skin1004's cleansing oil and got cystic acne because I didn't wash it off properly. You need to get that squeaky clean feeling or the product will still be on your face. Don't forget to moisturize, or all the cleansing will dry out your skin

You should try Suncut UV Perfect Essence from J Beauty, it's the only one that's worked for me for oily skin and gives a matte finish. Reequil Ultra Matte is another option. Biore has a gel version, but that broke me out too

I'm not sure what's causing it, but I recently started using Biore and I'm getting random breakouts on my nose and forehead. My diet and sleep haven't been great either, so I'm not sure if it's the product or something else
