Today was one of those days I never saw coming.
My entire team, including the manager, got laid off because of a restructuring. No performance issue - it was just a business decision.
I have 5 years of experience as a Java backend developer, mainly working with Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices, SQL and Git. I've also handled production debugging, performance tuning and cross‑team collaboration to deliver backend services.
I'm disappointed, but I'm trying to focus on what's next instead of dwelling on the past.
If anyone knows companies hiring experienced Java backend developers (remote or office), I'd appreciate referrals or leads. Happy to share my resume over DM.

New GCCs such as T‑Mobile, McDonald's, American Airlines, Lloyd's Bank, LPL Fintech, Costco, Amgen, Alter Domus, L'Oréal, BMW, Staples, Walt Disney and others have been hiring aggressively for the past year and will continue for the next year.
Can anyone explain how a fresher or someone with just entry‑level experience can land a job when folks with 5 years of experience are already competing? The situation looks really tough for juniors.
