I'm a 27-year-old male from Rajasthan, working as a maths teacher at a coaching centre. One of my current students is a 33-34-year-old woman preparing for the PGT exams; she already works as a government employee in the education department.
For some time now she keeps coming to me, saying that I must marry her within a maximum of 2-3 months. She says she spent her 'prime years' focusing on her career and competitive exams, and now feels a strong urge to get married. She told me she doesn't have time or patience for traditional dating and wants to skip straight to marriage.
I have absolutely no romantic interest in her, and I'm not comfortable marrying someone I barely know, especially under such pressure.
I want to deal with this in a professional way because she is my student, but her constant approaches are making me uncomfortable and disrupting the class. What should I do?
Tell her clearly and warn her that if she doesn't stop, you will report the matter to the coaching centre management.
Just say no and tell her that, as her teacher, you see yourself more like a father figure.
Make a record of everything, brother, in case a fake case is filed later.
Have a frank conversation and clear the air for your own peace of mind.
First of all, be very careful. Indian laws tend to favour women in such disputes, so a few false allegations could damage your reputation, job and life, even if they are later dismissed.
Never meet her alone. Escalate the issue to the coaching-centre management and make it clear that you do not want any further contact. If she continues to pressurise you, consider going to the nearest police station and filing a pre-emptive complaint for harassment. It may feel awkward and the police might not take it seriously, but it's better than getting caught up in a fabricated legal battle later.
Tell her, "I'm your teacher, you're like a daughter to me."
If she wants it in 2-3 months, maybe she's already pregnant and looking for a fall guy.
Address her as 'didi'... Raksha Bandhan is coming up.
Just tell her you're gay and end the conversation.
Simply tell her that you already have a girlfriend and you'll be getting married soon.
