Title: Cleanser recommendation & f**k Unilever
Post by: Rajendra on Jun 25, 2026, 01:38 AM
Help me out, ladies. First of all, f**k Unilever; I'm so fed up because I used Simple face wash for ages. After Unilever bought it they changed the formula to cut corners - it started giving me whiteheads. I switched to Minimalist salicylic acid face wash and it worked great, but then Unilever bought that brand too and now it feels very drying. Please recommend something, girls. What are you using? I have combination skin and get whiteheads during my periods.

I use the Joy PH cleanser together with the Minimalist SA cleanser (I stocked them before Unilever bought them, so I'm worried once they run out). Both work really well for me.

I use Bioderma Pigment Bio Foaming Cream three days a week and Neutrogena foaming face wash on the other days. You could also try Dove Sensitive Soap; it's good.

I'm in the same boat. The SA facewash was amazing - within 2 weeks I saw results - but now it's terrible and I'm hesitant to try other SA facewashes.

I would recommend the COSRX Salicylic Acid Daily Gentle Cleanser.

CeraVe foaming or the hydrating version, depending on your skin type - I rotate the two and it works fine for me.

I posted yesterday too - apparently CleansMe cleanser and Neutrogena Ultra Gentle cleanser are popular here. I'm planning to get those as well.

Unilever has owned Simple since 2010, and Simple was launched in India by HUL in 2019.
