How can I boost my career from here, I have a Bcom degree with less than 50 percent and I just quit my software engineer job
Hi everyone, I'm a 23 year old Bcom graduate and I used to work as a software engineer with two years of experience, but I recently resigned without having another job lined up because I wanted a better work life balance. The problem is that I have a Bcom degree with less than 50 percent and now I'm struggling to get shortlisted for interviews, probably because most recruiters prefer engineering graduates for software developer positions. I'm thinking of switching to a career in recruitment or consulting since my technical experience might be useful in these fields. I'd like to know more about the career growth and salary expectations for someone just starting out in these fields and how I can build a strong foundation for my future career. Also, since I won't be able to get into a top tier business school in India due to my low graduation percentage, I'd appreciate any guidance on what my options are. Thanks for taking the time to help me out.
I'm also a recent Bcom graduate, can you tell me how you landed your first software engineering job and what skills you had at the time ?
you should try really hard on linkedin, ask your old coworkers for referrals, practice your coding skills on leetcode, and consider applying for jobs abroad as well, the hiring process is really tough right now
if you know someone who works at another company, you can try getting a referral from them, it's usually the easiest and quickest way to get hired
could you tell me what your salary was, if you're comfortable sharing that information
