First CRED and now Meta.
What will happen to our data and investments now that Kuvera is under Meta's umbrella?
I already felt uneasy being owned by Kunal Shah. Now it feels like I won't be able to use WhatsApp anymore.
HDFC AMC is getting hacked. Kuvera is further down the line. The main holder of our info getting compromised is a bigger concern.
Nothing for me. I don't overreact unless I actually see changes.
Spin the Wheel is coming to WhatsApp now.
CRED wasn't sold to Meta. Meta just invested $900 million in the Indian fintech CRED, so CRED stays independent and is valued at $4.5 billion.
Meta doesn't get access to CRED's customer data.
Meta and CRED are data black holes and spyware, using personal data of crores of Indians. It's clear WhatsApp will become the same, so switching away from WhatsApp soon is better.
What's a good replacement for CRED? I only use it to pay two or three bills each month.
Meta always wanted to integrate payments in their app, and now they might push that forward. I don't get what CRED does - they seem to separate the upper‑middle class so companies can target them better. If a CEO says people don't know what his company does, that's a red flag. I don't think CRED will go for an IPO, so maybe it's fine, but I'll remove my info. Meta is great at dopamine manipulation, so I'd rather stay away.
