Hey girlies!
I have super oily, acne‑prone and fragrance‑sensitive skin. About a year ago my skin got really compromised and I was breaking out like crazy. I tried almost everything with no luck until I switched my water supply - that worked wonders! I also added a bunch of new products and stayed consistent.
Last winter this routine was my absolute holy grail:
AM Routine:
Cleanser: Round Lab 1025 Dokdo Cleanser
Moisturizer: Sebamed Clear Face Gel or Deconstruct Oil‑Free Moisturizer
Sunscreen: Beauty of Joseon (BOJ) Aqua Fresh Sunscreen or Round Lab Dokdo Sunscreen (Note: BOJ made me sweat a lot)
PM Routine:
Cleanser: CeraVe Blemish Control Cleanser
Treatments: COSRX Snail Mucin Essence or Plum Rice Water Serum (twice a week)
Moisturizer: Etude House SoonJung Hydro Barrier Cream
I still love the Hydro Barrier Cream but it feels a bit heavy for the summer heat. I'm looking to swap it for a lighter, barrier‑repairing or deeply hydrating moisturizer that won't trigger breakouts.
What I've tried that didn't work:
- Plum Niacinamide Moisturizer - not suitable.
- Formula RX Hydra Veil - broke me out.
- Formula RX Barrier Relief - gave me acne after two tubes.
- Derma Co Nia‑Ceramide - broke me out on day 2.
- Minimalist serums (B5, B12, niacinamide, alpha arbutin) - no luck.
- Within Beauty - has fragrance.
- Ponds Light Gel - has fragrance.
PS: I tried those moisturizers before my skin went haywire, when I only had one or two pimples. Now I'm extra cautious.
I've recently started using The Derma Co Tran‑zelaic Serum to fade acne marks.
If anyone with a similar skin type has tried‑and‑tested summer moisturizers, please share!
Also, feel free to try the routine above - it genuinely saved my skin.

I can vouch for the Minimalist 0.3 % ceramide moisturizer. My skin texture is similar to yours. Also, it's better to skip harsh face washes as they can strip your natural oils.
Try the Minimalist ceramide moisturizer or the Atomist cream.
I also use it! I prefer the Dot N Key barrier‑repair cream. I tried the Coca version they say is for acne, but it made things worse. The Ponds Super Light Gel is also great-it feels just like the Dot N Key and Neutrogena hydro gel.
Formula RX moisturizers are the best I've bought.
