First thing is that not everyone gets selected for NSG - it's the crème de la crème. You really need that X factor to join the special forces. And they're ten times more than just fitness (physical fitness is just the baseline, not the differentiator).
Decision-making in chaos, mental resilience under extreme stress, situational awareness, emotional control, ability to work in teams with absolute trust, courage without recklessness, adaptability and learning speed. The most important things are discipline and consistency over years.
