Title: Too much now?
Post by: Priya on May 26, 2026, 05:00 AM
Maybe it's high time we call out the reactionary behaviour of fans. It doesn't project a good image globally. This isn't the first time it's happened. I've seen people excuse themselves by saying someone said harsh words to Anushka and nobody called them out, so now Virat fans or anyone doing this nonsense shouldn't be spared either. The mindset needs to change. The "but they also did this" excuse doesn't hold. Just because it happened to you, you can't use that as a licence to abuse. Saying a cricketer's wife is 6000 rupees (if you get the reference) doesn't make you any better.

If SRH reaches the final or qualifier 2 and it's a knockout with Travis Head batting against RCB, I'll be sitting with popcorn.

Someone freeze me and wake me up after like 50 years or something; maybe then we'd be a bit better. Realistically, we Indians are pretty vile, maybe even more than others. Why are we so obsessed with celebrities? What difference does it make to our lives? Aaagh... forget it all.

Well, we can't do much right now except call them out. This will keep happening as long as the fanbases of the Big Three stay active.

These toxic fans end up representing India on the global stage, so when Westerners mock Indians online, it shouldn't be a surprise. A lot of the internet's toxicity comes from our own side too.

This is literally happening with Anushka, and the people on both sides are Indians themselves.

This toxicity, which was always there, got turned up a notch after a man‑child refused to shake hands, attracting global attention. Every fandom's worst habits are surfacing while the international media is having a field day. It's just going to end with everyone at each other's throats.

Indians make sure the world knows about our behaviour, then we go abroad and act surprised: "Why are people so racist against us?!" "How can they be racist, sir?!"

Fans in our country are genuinely terrible, which is why I hope players take more responsibility and behave well on the field. Fans are already riled up, and one stinky action just validates them to do more.

Blue shirt or not, the guy is going on a rampage in the playoffs.

I'm supporting SRH now, f*** all the nonsense.
