Title: I just had another interview that didnt go well, feeling really stuck
Post by: Sachin on Mar 19, 2026, 12:20 PM
I lost my job last December because of company wide layoffs and now I am almost out of money and had to move out of the city I really love.  I am having a tough time finding a new job that fits my skills, I just cant seem to get past the second round of interviews, there is always something that goes wrong and companies never give any feedback on what I did wrong, I am really struggling to figure out what to do with my life right now. I am 26 years old, I have been working as a game designer for the past three years, my skills include designing gameplay and progression systems, level designing, rapid prototyping, game balancing, technical documentation, technical art like shaders and vfx and tools, and AI NPC design.  I know how to use game engines like unity and unreal engine, including c# and visual scripting, I am also good at 2D and 3D art software like blender, maya, zbrush, and adobe creative suite, and I have worked on projects that involve AR and VR before, I can use AI tools to speed up my workflow.  I have a degree in computer science engineering and a masters in game design from NID, I am open to any role that uses my skills, like game designer, technical artist, AR VR dev, experience designer, and so on, I am willing to learn anything new that I need to, if anyone knows of any opportunities, please let me know, I would really appreciate it. My last salary was 12 LPA, at this point I am willing to take a lower salary, around 8 to 10 LPA, I just need something to work out, I am scared that even with all my skills, I might not be good enough to get hired, after so many months of trying, I have lost all my confidence. I dont know how to switch to a different field, it seems like no one wants to hire someone who doesnt have experience in their field, I am really confused and dont know what to do.
