They even changed their company name from Facebook to Meta for this project, what a waste

they changed the name and now its shutting down, i guess thats a good thing to happen

The project was so poorly executed, it seems like they logged out of the metaverse themselves

What was metaverse actually, was it a game or a collaborative workspace, nobody had any idea, and to try it out you had to buy a 499 dollar vr headset, and then ai came along which is actually useful, so metaverse was doomed from the start
