I challenged myself to sit through the whole movie and it was excruciating. The storyline could've been used better. The lead actors' performances were painful. The dialogues were a cringe fest. They wasted such beautiful locations. I want to know if anyone else who saw it feels the same or genuinely enjoyed it and found any saving graces.
I nodded off within ten minutes. You managed to stay awake better than me!
Netflix is pulling it in ten days.
I liked it once the crocodile appeared - the best actor, hands down.
No! I quit after a while - it was a total snoozefest.
I went to the theatre, stepped out for a call from a friend and chatted for an hour, then returned for the final act and felt sleepy.
Best movie so far. /s
Frankly, I had no expectations. I binge‑watched it in two days (that's why I love streaming) and the storyline wasn't that bad. Karthik was irritating throughout, while Ananya was much better. The other main characters were decent too.
I did enjoy the overall story - I think it was meant as a modern retelling of DDLJ - but the cinematography, acting, direction and songs were all below average.
They wasted the gorgeous locations in Croatia and the good music. 'Dil Musafir' is truly a great song.
The story was just okay, but the actors were bland.
It's an okay story but terribly executed. Every scene felt like they were trying to be super smart or sassy, but it fell flat as usual. Ananya was mediocre, Kartik was unbearable, and Neena was mostly unlikeable. Jackie, despite his clichéd setup, seemed the sanest. The film isn't completely unwatchable, but it's tiring and purposeless. The forced DDLJ‑bit and Ananya as a bogus writer (thank God no one buys those books in the real world) was just grating. The biggest disappointment was the music, which I expected a lot from.
One scene I found funny was when Ananya says 'mommy boys are these...' and Kartik instantly lifts his shirt – that was decent. The rest is trash.
