Title: Rupa Bayor: first Indian to win back‑to‑back medals at Asian Taekwondo Champs
Post by: Rishi on May 21, 2026, 07:10 PM
Rupa Bayor, a top‑level Taekwondo practitioner from Arunachal Pradesh, has been making history in the Poomsae discipline. She just bagged a bronze at the 2026 Asian Taekwondo Poomsae Championships, becoming the first Indian to earn back‑to‑back medals at this event. The win also came after she qualified to represent India at the 2026 Asian Games. Bayor is the first woman from her state to reach World No. 1 in Poomsae, and her hard work is bringing huge pride to her state and the country.

Making history back‑to‑back shows insane consistency. Massive respect to her - hopefully this draws a lot more attention to Taekwondo in India!

We need more folks from Arunachal Pradesh and other states getting media coverage.

They are the real minorities and often the most peaceful too.
